We are a 501c3 non-profit foundation that raises funds to support research on neuroendocrine and pancreatic cancers. The Julie and Eric Feltman Memorial Foundation is funded by family, friends, golf professionals, teachers, students, and others who knew Julie and Eric or are moved by their story.
Eric, originally from Albany, NY, excelled at golf throughout high school and went on to attend Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL, where he played on the golf team and received a B.A. in business.
He was a PGA Golf Professional whose career started as an Assistant Pro at Middle Bay Country Club, followed by Huntington Crescent Club. He later became the Head Golf Professional at North Shore Towers, where he oversaw golf operations alongside his wife, Julie. He subsequently moved to the Engineers Country Club in Roslyn, NY, where he was Director of Golf for 22 years.
Eric absolutely loved the game of golf. He worked tirelessly on perfecting his own game and devoted countless hours to studying the mechanics of the golf swing. He was the consummate golf instructor and was recognized in 2017 as one of the top 25 golf instructors in New York State by Golf Digest, and he received the Met PGA Merchandiser of the Year award in 1998.
Eric Feltman was diagnosed with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer in 2019 and passed away a few short months later.

In 2019, Eric Feltman died from neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer, and in 2025, Julie Feltman lost her life from neuroendocrine lung cancer. Losing a husband and wife to the devastating disease has moved us to raise money to take action. We are committed to raising funds to support research into neuroendocrine and other pancreatic cancers and to bring hope and relief to other families facing these terrible diagnoses.
The Eric Feltman Memorial Foundation was established in 2019 to honor Eric's memory and to advance pancreatic cancer research. Thanks to the support of "Friends of Julie and Eric we have raised nearly $500,000 to date. We are proud to partner with the Northwell Health Foundation in support of the Eric Feltman Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials Fund at the Northwell Cancer Institute. Through this Fund, we aim to drive meaningful progress in early detection and to improve treatment options for pancreatic and neuroendocrine cancers.
After Julie's passing, our foundation was renamed to honor both of these remarkable people and the lasting impact they made on our community. Each summer, we host our annual golf event, The Julie and Eric Feltman Memorial Pro-Am Golf Tournament at the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, NY.

Julie Feltman was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in the fall of 2024 and passed away in February of 2025. She shared Eric’s love for golf, and the two met through other golf professionals. Julie and Eric worked together at North Shore Towers in Floral Park, N.Y., for six years before beginning their long tenure at Engineers CC in Roslyn, N.Y.
Julie was raised in Northfield, IL, and earned a B.S. in zoology from Duke University, where she played on the golf team. After marrying Eric in 1989, she went on to earn a double Master's degree in biology and chemistry from CW Post. Julie was a dedicated teacher and golf coach at Locust Valley Middle and High School, where she fulfilled her passion for both teaching and learning.
Julie was a driving force behind the success of our foundation, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. We remain committed to honoring both Julie and Eric’s memory and legacy and will continue our efforts to raise funds in support of vital cancer research.
Julie and Eric are lovingly remembered by their three wonderful children, Sarah Velez (Brennen), Rachel ,and Aaron, as well as Julie's sister and brother, Pam and Tim.

Our work supports the Northwell Cancer Institute, based in New York State, in its ongoing investigation of cancer and pursuit of cures for these often understudied diseases.
Over the past five years, our Foundation has provided ongoing support for the research conducted by Mathew Weiss, MD, FACS, in collaboration with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Dr. Weiss is the deputy physician-in-chief and director of the surgical oncology program at Northwell Cancer Institute and a board-certified surgeon specializing in pancreas and liver diseases.

Neuroendocrine and pancreatic cancers are often detected late, making research into early identification and novel treatments essential.
We have expanded our annual Pro-Am event into a premier charitable tournament and contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to research and clinical innovation.
